I am looking for US quarters from 1977-1990, the time period I consider the height of arcade games. I started collecting them years ago to be placed in a picture frame or shadow box stating something like what I said above. Unfortunately, they got misplaced or spent, so I am starting again. :(

Why dont you go to the bank and get a couple hundred bucks worth of quarters. Sort out the ones you want and take the rest back.

i'm waiting for the first retard to say they have 400 of them, and they want 250.00 for them. lol

I have all these except 1986

Quarters! A million allowances worth of quarters! No slugs or tokens!

Fork 'em over/Fork 'em over...

But seriously, all those years are really common - heck, I regularly find 1965 quarters in circulation. I don't think there's any "scarce" years for clad quarters. Just go to the bank, get a few rolls, shouldn't be too hard to get one from each year. Then just spend the ones you don't want.

Or, if you want to be annoying, go to a newer vending machine, put in a couple quarters, and hit the coin return to get them back. You'll get different coins than the ones you put in. You can keep doing this for about ten bucks worth before you'll start getting the ones you started with back.

I would change that to be the range 1978 to 1983. :)

The problem you'll have is that the quarters are so heavy it'll be tough to ship them in any quantity.

I agree with Riptor, just get some quarters at the bank.

I own laundromats ,come across a lot quarters, save all silver quarters since they won't go in washer electric conter .

I have a helper coming over today, I will have him pull the hopper from my slot and sort out the old quarters. PM me and I will let you know what I find.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Maybe I am shopping in the wrong stores (no comments please!), but I am just not seeing many 70's or 80's quarters. I just want one of each, but would like them to be in decent condition, of course. It just sounded like a cheap, easy way to celebrate the best years (or at least the years I played in the arcades).

BTW, every time I get quarters from the bank they are new or nearly new (in roles).
Riptor, I'm PM you shortly. Thanks.

Not sure if quarters are anything like pennies, but I know if you soak pennies in Coca Cola (or whatever cola) for a while, they clean up and get real shiny pretty quickly.

And yeah... 1990 for top of the height? Um, really? Maybe 1986. Maybe.
