I recently picked up a stand up PC-10 machine, and it had everything except for the security keys. Rather than try to take the machine to a locksmith to have some made, I was wondering if it's possible for me to either buy or trade for some on here? Someone told me the keys weren't all desgined different so it would be possible to get the same keys for this machine.

I can buy the keys, or trade for'em. I have no arcade stuff for trade though, although I do have regular console games/systems which can be found here: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/me...readid=15736&keyword1=armageddon potato trade

I have lots of Feedback on NintendoAge, and PlayTheNES.

Well I'm trying not to damage the machine, or alter it.

Also I figured the keys weren't that rare, or someone here would have them or could make them.

locks

Drilling and replacing the locks is not going to damage or lower the value of the machine. Operators used to replace locks all the time.

I'll do it if I have to... although I'd probably damage the crap out of it if I tried to do it myself.

I may just have to go get it key'd.

Also as a note the original owner owned this cab his entire life(since he was 8), and no operator has altered this unit in any way. It never saw commercial use.

Well if anyone has any keys I'm still down to buy or trade for some.

just get over it and drill out lock the last thing people care about is lock being orginal to the machine its not like its gonna be a deal breaker plus now you have the choice to key all your machines alike

what about removing the backdoor and reaching through and take the cam off the lock ( i think its called a cam) but its only held on with a screw. so if the back door is just screwed down you can reach through the back. if not drill the back door lock since you dont want to drill the front. shoot you might find the keys hanging on the coin door, i know i have found a few hanging on the coin door over the years

any lock will do. I don't think Nintendo has a standard lock.

Just drill it out and save your head ache. There's no way someone can sell you a magic key to open this one.
