I know this is a long shot, but I'm looking for a working 280-ZZZAP boardset. It's a Midway B/W driving game similar to Atari Night Driver.

If not, does anyone know who might be able to fix these for me?

Tom

Channelmanic should be able to fix them. I think he has a test rig for that board set. Shoot him a PM. He is n the process of moving to a new house so may be alittle backlogged.

Does it use the same LM380 that Stunt Cycle used? I can bring my soldering iron and swap the chip for you at CAX if you want. We should be able to find a chip down there. I can bring a socket.

dale asked me to bring my 280zzap to cax.. When I got it like 15 years ago it was working with no sound..

I never put any time into checking out what its problem was.. I am going to get it and destructiojn derby out of storage in a few days and clean them up try to get them ready for the show..

So if you want a cab to test a pcb in, feel free to do so. If you think its that chip that fails on in, I can try to track one down.. Is it something HSC would carry?

Hi Bill,, thanks for the offer. I have a cab and my boardset is running in it.

I do not know if it is the same chip in this game as Stunt Cycle, I wish I did. I had sent it to Elektronforge when I first got it and he looked at it and pronounced it working but when I installed it, it was not working.

I will probably mess with mine next week. Hopefully I can figure out whats wrong.. Like I said, if its at cax and you find a reason to test something in it, feel free to do so..

Thanks for the info guys. When I can pull it out I'll have a look at it again. Right now it's in the game room pretty much locked in place until I move several games around.

When I did get the boards back and played it for the first time, It did have sound, kind of raspy, but it did work until my first crash. It made the crash sound then nothing since, that's why I don't think it's the speaker but something cooked on the board.

Anyway, thx for the info.

It could also be the power supply.
