WTB: Tron Interconnect Cables

I would like to buy a new set of Tron interconnect cables. I don't want to try to build them myself, and from what I can tell Bob only has 25pin 2 row computer cables. If someone makes them, or knows where I can buy a new set them please PM me. Thank you.

They do work great. You have to be careful and I like to use a multimeter's continuity function to make sure everything is lined up correctly.

On some games you may have to file down the side of one of the connectors or the metal support piece. But they do work fine once they're correctly hooked up.

I ended up buying them from Bob, then made my own for the one cable that wouldn't fit otherwise on my Spy Hunter.

Just be careful with Bob's -- bad things can happen if you don't get them on right.

I get that they can work, but I would still like to get a single row proper pin count connector. I just wanted to see if someone has a source, know someone that makes them, or has sets or spares from ones someone else made.

I already have spare computer cables but it just looks like a bad hack and I would prefer a proper set.

Yeah, someone found a set of cables that were 24x1.

I think they were IDC and somewhat pricey (~$40) so that turned some people off. I want to say they were Samtron? cables?

I'll look for the thread.

Edit: This is reported to be the right cable but I can't vouch for them; never seen them. http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showpost.php?p=1790765&postcount=9

Thanks, after checking it out that appears to be a good source there. I was trying to fix a sound issue and decided to swap the cables coming from the video board to see if the problem moved with the cables. Unfortunately, I still have a Sound Interface error and my voltages are good at the board level. I guess I am going to be look for a working sound board or donor parts board at this point.

That's the amp... Won't fix his problem.
He needs an ssio board.

I have a while bunch of ssio boards but have not tested/rebuilt any if them yet. Except the ones in my personal cabinets. If you don't find one in a few weeks let me know i might have one by then. Also cdjump on here is really good at fixing MCR stuff you might want to PM him to see if he can fix yours for you.

Thanks for the help everyone. It turns out I had a bad Z80 on the SSIO board. I found a CPU and RAM to swap out from parts boards, and it turned out the CPU was the issue. The cables looked pretty rough so I was sure that was the problem.

The cables are the source of many future problems for your boards. You should really replace them now and save yourself the drama.
