I am pretty new to this game setup, I thought some were an EPROM swap based but others needed additional hardware / daughter cards?
I had read about the PPU changer, I'll do some more recon.

This new sub-pcb for NINTENDO VS-SYSTEM can translate any PPU to any PPU. DIP switches select the PPU-Setting WHICH to WHAT PPU. insert this pcb as your normal system-PPU and install REAL PPU on this pcb and select as which PPU it should act.
Take a look at my site https://www.pc-10.com/ it has 2 VS tabs of information. I sell new daughtercards, eprom chips sets and RP2A03 CPU's.
Also take a look at johns site http://www.johnsarcade.com/nintendo_vs_ppu_info.php
He does a great job of explaining and laying out the whole VS arcade cab.
VS hardware is great - I get a lot of play on mine. SMB is definitely the most popular with guests. Be sure you use Matt's freeplay attract hack if you're running that. Once you get tired of that there are palette swapped rom sets here https://forums.arcade-museum.com/th...he-nintendo-vs-system-and-multivs-pcb.375524/ so you can play other games with your PPU. You can also get the switcher that allows you to play two rom sets off one board, or get the multiverses and switch multiple rom sets on one board.
