i just saw something that mentions nfl blitz is medium resolution, do the medium resolution monitors in those cabinets also do standard res?

No, the monitors are specific. There are some monitors that are dual-res and can be switched between standard and medium by moving a connector on the monitor (with it off).

But no worries. Blitz has a dip switch to switch it between standard and medium, so just go with a standard-res monitor and change the dip setting on Blitz...
