Hi folks,
This is my first post here, sorry it couldn't be something contributory. Anyway, this is a great site here, so I look forward to being a member of it. Now that we've gotten that out of the way...
I posted this on the SEGA Naomi forums, but I figured I might post here as well just to increase my odds. I am the proud new owner of a NAOMI2 system, which I believe I got a pretty good deal on (~$87 shipped, something like that) from eBay. However, with that being said, I don't have anything but the mother board itself! I was originally planning on trying to run it from the bench, but if there is anyone around the Houston area with one of those nifty Universal cabs, I would be more than interested. Now, to get a running system, I obviously need the PSU, which I'll be able to build using a spare ATX one, per the wonderful instructions available on those forums. In addition, I will be needing some I/O board. From what I hear the capcom one is the best, but, I would like to *eventually* run it in a cab, and since the capcom one is JAMMA based, don't you lose quality, like mono instead of stereo? Anyway, some I/O board. I would *like* a GD-ROM system, but not sure how much that would cost me. Then I'll need a game. Obviously, a GD-ROM game would do if I can find a GD-ROM for a reasonable price, but any game will do, cheaper the better, but I'm not interested in sports, racing, or wrestling games (shmups are nice). In addition, I am really looking for a Triforce system. I know these are rare, but Mario Kart GP 1 or 2, F-Zero, and Starfox (if it exists, not sure on that) are killer apps for me. I think all the stuff for a Triforce is interchangeable with NAOMI, but correct me if I'm wrong. I also *think* that a Triforce can be put into a NAOMI cab (I know maybe a little heretical but limited space here, and I know controls might be weird, but I can build my own control panel if I have to). In addition, any SEGA boards you have laying around I might be interested in as well, if they're cheap enough.
So, if you can't remember or don't feel like reading all that:
-NAOMI I/O board
-GD-ROM system
-NAOMI Universal cab (maybe)
-Any NAOMI game withing criteria
-Triforce board
-(preferably) Triforce game
-any other random SEGA boards (or really any SEGA stuff, but preferably arcade stuff)
oh, and also, if you have spare Genesis controllers, I'm in need of some of those
Thanks so much,
-Kevin
