Hey guys,

I have a broken Rolling Thunder board and I'm looking for a replacement Namco Atari 130 Custom Chip, I've included a picture here for reference. Please message me if you have one for sale so I can get this Rolling Thunder back up and running.

Thanks in advance,
~Curtis

Hi, I can recognize my picture (and my wooden table..) of the custom '130', probably you took it from the web.
Anyway this custom is present only on Rolling Thunder but I can say that some time ago I came across a same PCB with a piggyback board as replacement of this custom :

This board contained four scratched-off TTLs (which I identified) and two secured PAL16L8 (which I dumped).Obviously I removed all ICs and scanned the PCB to figure out connections. It would be cool to re-engineer this piggyback board using a modern complex programmable logic (like CPLD) to embed all the logics in a DIP 40 package like the original part.

Hey,

Yeah, just read it. A replacement for this chip would be amazing, but well beyond my knowledge. I have two dead Rolling Thunder boards that both need a new custom chip. Please let me know if you get further with this.

Thanks,
~Curtis

Can you provide this info to someone who does have the skills and time to make one of these boards? Or even just get it up there so it doesn't get lost?

Nicely done ! Those chips also suffer from BAD leg rot, so there are probably a few RT's that could do with one.

Yes, all Namco customs from same era seem to suffer from severe corrosion of legs (the worst is the 'CUS34'), I wonder what kind of material they used during manufacturing.
