I'm new to the forum, but......

I've been looking for a pin for months now. Where do you come across decent priced machines?! I've been looking at many models, but even rough ones are out of this world. Thought a Xenon would be affordable. Ha, was I wrong.

Guess I'm kinda stuck because I don't want to have to have it shipped to me. So can someone tell me, where can I find decent pinball machines? Craigslist is turning into Ebay, top dollar and no one will negotiate anymore.

Ideally I'd like a Xenon, Phantom of the Opera (I know, highly sought after), Bram's Dracula or Frankenstein). What should I expect to pay for these?

Thanks for letting me vent......

Def do nto buy one that must be shipped! Bad idea for a first pin, or any pin!

You need to see the machine and play it. CL is a great place to start. Word of mouth here, want ad postings, and also looking the mrpinball.com classifieds http://www.xmission.com/~daina/pinball.html in your area.

You are probably looking at dealer prices, and yes they are expensive.

Best way is to make pinball friends in your area, join a league, meet people. Craigslist can be good, ebay sucks..or try Lindsey's basement maybe :)

iv had ok success with craigslist. also, try mr.pinball classifieds. go to the search area and insert your home state. then it will list all ads in your state.
you can also look in your local phone book and find someone who ha a vending route.ie. pins juke boxes etc. contact them.i did that with a local vender he gave me a list of every pin he has,its price and location on route. if i want to buy any of them he will pull it from the route and shop it for me.

I'm also a fan of Phantom of the Opera! Very cool pin! Those you mention seems pretty common except for that POTH. BUT like others have mentioned it all depends where you live.....

I wouldn't ship your first pin, but I know a lot of people who have had great luck shipping pins, including me. I wouldn't ship an TZ or an AF, but games with low circulation can be hard to find locally, or impossible in the shape you want.

Welcome to the forum!

Thanks! If (ok, when, because it is inevitable) I get my first machine, I'm going to be depending on this place a lot for advice and help! I've never owned a Pin before, but always like them over video games. I want my two boys to experience what I did growing up and get their heads out for the Xbox!

Here's a dumb question. How many of you all have to hide the amount you spend from your wife?! I've been telling mine that the machines I'm looking at are a couple hundred $$'s, then use money I've got squirrled away to purchase!

This can't be good.......When I started a shot glass collections it was a lot less expensive!

Ok, called the first vending/route guy and he has a Tales from the Crypt for 1300.00. This one's not on my list, but interests me.

Anyone have any thoughts on the game or price? Says it's in decent shape, good playing field all items work within the machine. He'll shop it before he gives it to me.

I have a TFTC and I love it. It helps if you like horror themes in general and the TFTC comics and show in particular (I do).

There are a few things to know and check out before buying.

Give me a call and I'll give you details. (I'll PM my phone number).
