Hi all, I'm searching for a Motorola XM702-10 monitor chassis for a Sea Wolf. Preferably looking for a working unit, but open to non-working.

Probably from space invaders.

Do you have the old monitor, but it doesn't work? Or is it completely missing?
I still have what I think is the original monitor, but I'm unsure if it works. The chassis is completely missing, the yoke is still there.

Ok, you have the CRT with the yoke. Great! That's the 23" version right?
There is an XM-501 on feebay right now. That's the 19" version, but the chassis should be identical and will work for both tube sizes.

@ELutz do you know the difference between the 701 and the 702? The 702 is more rare and I've never found a manual for one. I do think I have a XM-702 stashed somewhere but it was a wreck when I got it, so I never went through it.

Sadly, I do not. Don't know if I've ever came across the 702 variant. Could be something as simple as a different frame it's housed in. I have a XM-500 (i believe...need to double check). It's an werid looking XM, but it's just in a really odd ball frame. Otherwise, seems the same

Yes, I believe the CRT is a 23". Is the XM-501 chassis on eBay this one Motorola #19vp111a? If so, it's missing the PCB unfortunately.

A Wells Gardner V1000 series chassis will not work with your Motorola yoke.....the tube will, tho
Thanks for the info! Just to clarify, are you saying that I can use a Wells Gardner V1000 series chassis for this Motorola CRT? But I need to replace the yoke with one compatible with the V1000 chassis?

No, this one:

Technically, yes that's correct. But you'll be much better off leaving the original yoke in place and getting the correct chassis for it.

Any Motorola XM series monitor that starts with a 500 is a 19" monitor. I have seen XM-500, XM-501, and could be others. The 700 is a 23" monitor...XM-701, XM-702 are the ones I am aware of. Then you have the Motorola M series...M5000 (19") and M7000 (23"). Then Motorola tweaked that series and renamed it KV500 and KV700

Wells Gardner labeled there's more easier to understand...19V1000 and 23V1000 for 19" and 23". There certain tweaks too them designated buy V1001(standard version), V1002 (cocktail version that contained replay for flipping the screen). There could be other versions, but I have never seen.

These were the two biggie manufacturers. There were many other small companies that you rarely see, but are definitely out there. Midway made an in-house version briefly in their early days. Cinematronics made theirs in house

This following info is for 19" B&W monitors, as I have seen 100s more of those than 23"ers, but I bet this mostly applier to them as well.....I have only seen two different tubes used throughout all the various manufacturers....and they are pinout compatible. If I stripped a Motorola monitor to it's bare tube, I could swap that tube into a Wells Gardner 19V1001, or a Cinematronics, or and Electrohome B&W vector (G05 series), Or the Wells Gardner B&W vector. They are ALL interchangeable. Now....the yokes are all different. Those have to stay with the chassis!!! Even with the same manufacturer, like Motorola's XM series verses their "M" series have very different yokes. And to make it even more confusing, sometimes the yokes are slightly different from 19" to 23" within the same Manufacturers series (M5000 uses a different yoke from the M7000)

Enjoy
