Rebuilding my Tron, got a good monitor with some burn.

I want a NOS monitor that will sync up OK. (I heard WG 7200 will work)

Any ideas would be great. If you have a monitor with little or no burn, or a new one that will work. Email me. I am near Boulder, CO

This is for a fullsize upright.

Thanks,

Jim

Any 19" CGA (standard-res) monitor will work. You could buy a brand-new one from Arcadeshop for about $200.

Or learn how to do a tube swap and pick up a cheap 19" TV from your local thrift store to make your current monitor perfect...

...

This is not totally true.
The MCR games have problems with some monitors. You get a jittery or a jumpy image.
Its hard to sync them.

I have installed digital monitors with good results, but they are a bit more expensive than the regular rgb/cga monitors.

You can do a google search or a search in here for information.

Well, I have not had that problem. I've heard others complain about this, though.

Still, a 4900, 4600, G07, Vision Pro, etc should work just fine.

I still say do a tube swap....

Digital cga I could see working, but I imagine a Digital Tri-sync wouldn't work at all.

I assume you used digital cga?

Do you have any instructions on how to know what tubes are compatible?

Any CR-23 tube will work. If the neck board from the arcade chassis fits on the neck of the TV tube without modifying the key, it will work. I heard they are common in 19" Panasonic TVs. I have been told that most 19" TVs have that tube, but I have picked up 3 TVs (2 RCAs and a Zenith) and none of them had the right tube. Its a hit and miss.
