WTB: monitor discharge tool

You can discharge a tube with a high voltage probe. I do it all the time and have been doing it for 35 years! It is the safest way to do it too.

I have the Pomona one in the padded orange case and use it almost daily. We did have a Heathkit one that we used all the time too until one of the guys dropped it on the concrete floor & destroyed it. All high voltage probes are delicate and it is advised to build or buy a padded case for it.

Many people want to argue the point but DO NOT discharge a G05 black and white monitor like found in Asteroids, Lunar Lander, Red Baron. Battle zone ETC. directly with the screwdriver and ground clip. It will cause the diode stick go bad and they are getting harder to find. It even states this in the Black & White Vector Monitor FAQ and Guide.

I believe this is the same with a WG6100.
