WTB: Midway MCR AY-3-8910 sound IC

Got your order and will be shipping these in the morning.
Strange coincidence but I just repaired a frogger board that had a bad one. First time I ever ran across one that was bad.

I dont think I've ever had to replace them in the 25+ years that I've been doign this either. I confirmed that the one I have is bad though.

Thanks for the great deal.

Matt

The frogger board sound was working but some of the sounds had the wrong pitch and were very loud. I verified the sound roms then swapped out the sound IC and it was good to go. Swapped back in the old sound ic to verify and the problem returned with the chip.

Well, good or bad I figured out what my problem was and its not the sound generator.

I pulled the software off of all three of my boards to send to another user here thats having problems with his board. I verified all of the ROMs against Tron set 1 on MAME and reburned new ROMs for my board. I installed them and expected the sound to wig out like it was but its been rock solid for 3 days!

I already re-seated everything before I found that moving the sound generator moved the problem to the other channel so I just dont get how a bad ROM could have contributed to this issue.

I guess its good for me since its fixed but may not be so good for the guy I sent those ROMs too!
