WTB: Lunar Lander PCB

Yea I know right? The description almost sounded like it was $300 for the docs and oh btw - here's a picture of a pcb. :)
But as Braido eluded to yea, most have sold on ebay for $500. $300 would be acceptable, but the problem is, it's starting bid is $300. With 20 something watching it, it's bound to go the $500 route.
Last I'd heard, this multigame didn't support something, either the thruster or the skill lvl lights. Not sure which. With reproductions in the works on Major Havoc, I can only hope one day Lunar Lander may be reproduced with the original pcb prints. The multigame does sound promising if I can just use an Asteroids harness.
In any event, especially in this present economy I can't justify spending $500 on just a 30 yo pcb that is just as prone to failure as any other cabinet pcb. I'll try a $300 bid but it's pretty much a sure thing that, that will be a failing bid.
Thanks guys for not biting my head off during my fit of frustration. :)

I know your feeling, I was there once also. I had to get a pcb, harness, etc... I ended up getting a pcb for over 400.00 but it also had the revision 2 upgrade to it. I waited a long time also, before I paid, waited it out, so I jump compared to the time I waite. This is 1 game I think you cant wait on since they come up very rare and the parts more hard to find. I made the harness myself, and did the control panel myself. Just how it is with this rare game, nobody has extra parts.

I paid $300 plus shipping for Omega Race boards, I had been looking for a while and finally realized this is what they go for. It was pissing me off that i couldn't get it any cheaper, then i thought about it and the Op gave me the Cabinet (nice one to boot) and if the boards cost me $300 that was all i was into the game so thought that isn't too bad at all.

When i got the boards and put them in i was getting glitches, had to rebuild the Power supply with the big caps and the lineaur power supply, and the monitor, finally it worked. It was frustrating as hell! But worth the high cost of the boards and the work i put into it, i love the game!(probably more because of the work it took to get it going)

I hope you have the same experiance with your Lunar Lander, well i hope you can find a cheaper PCB and get it going. But one day what ever it takes to get it going it will be worth it and when you play it you will have a smile on your face knowing you saved a classic.

Well said.
Tonight I just got an email from a gent in Los Angeles that saw what pains I was going through to find a board. Pointed me off to a 'Buy it Now' auction on Ebay. Costed $395 but with free shipping. I finally just broke down and bought it. Probably the most expensive single pcb I've ever bought. But it is 'working', at least until I plug it in. I guess he was taking a 20% loss on it. Without naming him, thanks friend.
I'll have to go back through my logs and check at www.zinfer.com/lunarlander.htm to see exactly what parts I still need before I can pull it out of storage and start the assembly. I know for fact I need one more part, the harness.
But finally thank heavens I have the main component now! Thanks to everyone for listening to my rants, raves, quibbling and groaning.

This is great news, Congrats. Now how much modification would an Asteroids harness need to work with the LL pcb? Probably a lot easier to find and Ast rather than a LL harness?

I know the guy that has the one up for auction now:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-Lunar...341?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item20bc412c9d

It is untested but came out of a converted cabinet.

Hey guys,
I really need some help here. The last two things I am looking for are a LL pcb and a harness. Granted I can probably do the harness myself with alot of guidance and research. But the pcb is really becoming a major problem.
Every time I have found one, the typical ebay price is around $500 or more. Absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not looking to purchase gold bars or even ounces. Just an old worn out and most likely, not working pcb that may need some tlc to keep it going or get it back going again. If you think I'm out of line, check out the Dragon's Lair Laserdisc on ebay for $500.
This is really getting nuts and beyond anyone but a collectors belief. Can we try to get a grip on reality in pricing? I just want to get a Lunar Lander restored.
With the pricing and greed that's going on I'm surprised other Atari PCB's are being reproduced rather than Lunar Lander if it's that rare, and that sought after and a prize that is nigh on the golden chalice. Just baffling.
I'm about to just give up trying to find a LL pcb and hope that a reproduction might be sought after being the rarity and near extinction of this classic. If anyone does choose to make a run of these please, by all means count me in.

What was it converted to? Was the PCB converted to another game?

The only conversion possible was in pre-production days when they converted 200 (IIRC) LL cabs into asteroids. They used the edge-connector adapter and a different control panel.

Maybe he removed the LL PCB way back then ??

Is the LL Pcb ever gonna get repro'd?

I would like to repro it one day (unless Tronic plans to)

If you guys reproduce this next week - I'm gonna be pissed :D

Wouldnt it be possible to "downgrade" an Asteroids PCB to LL ?

I have given up hope on the Braze kit ever happening and it doesnt even support the thruster....but IMHO the kit shows that it should be possible. I have a working Asteroids PCB right here..... ;)

Alternatively, why doesnt anyone make a LL/Asteroids/AD fpga ?

It's probably one of the easiest adapters that I had to make for my test bench (LL into an asteroids harness). Many of the signals are in the same position. In a cab you will need to bring out wires for the mission lights and thruster pot. Use a tool to re-pin the 22/44 pin edge connector if the split contacts are still good but if it's a keeper you may want to start with new split contacts.

All this crying and bitching and you are not even sure what else the game needs ? You have to pull it out of storage ? It still needs a harness and more ? Did you ever get this game working ? Or is the LL pcb that you threw a fit for just collecting dust now.

Ended

I bought LL for $220 plus freight in 2008 working, and in 2009 for $208 +F for an unknown one, but it worked except for the Test Ram was stuffed.

They are rising in price, but obviously not as much as $350.00

Not surprising since you listed it here....

It was on offer for at least a number of days before without anyone apparntly interested.

The price was too high for me, I hope to get lucky....

I think 200 bucks would be OK for me.

I would pay this if I still had 0 boards

I thought even if Zinfer didn't get a reminder, at least he would have an eBay search everyday.
