WTB: Lunar Lander PCB

Well..ebay you know. I'm still hanging in there for a LL pcb. If it doesn't happen this year, maybe the next, or the year after that. But I'm still looking and will be until one comes up.

sometimes it's more about helping a fellow collector than the almighty dollar.

There's one that just popped up on Ebay (Not mine). It's not cheap, though I'm not sure of the going rate on LL pcb's these days.

Found it. Was hoping for a PM rather than public announcement as I'm sure that'll make it even easier for me to acquire. With a starting bid at 300 I doubt it'll be possible to get hold of.

Hey guys,
I really need some help here. The last two things I am looking for are a LL pcb and a harness. Granted I can probably do the harness myself with alot of guidance and research. But the pcb is really becoming a major problem.
Every time I have found one, the typical ebay price is around $500 or more. Absolutely ridiculous.
I'm not looking to purchase gold bars or even ounces. Just an old worn out and most likely, not working pcb that may need some tlc to keep it going or get it back going again. If you think I'm out of line, check out the Dragon's Lair Laserdisc on ebay for $500.
This is really getting nuts and beyond anyone but a collectors belief. Can we try to get a grip on reality in pricing? I just want to get a Lunar Lander restored.
With the pricing and greed that's going on I'm surprised other Atari PCB's are being reproduced rather than Lunar Lander if it's that rare, and that sought after and a prize that is nigh on the golden chalice. Just baffling.
I'm about to just give up trying to find a LL pcb and hope that a reproduction might be sought after being the rarity and near extinction of this classic. If anyone does choose to make a run of these please, by all means count me in.

I understand your frustration but you are wanting a PCB that has been selling on eBay for like you said over $500. Lunar Landers are expensive and pretty hard to find, so the prices are up there. Again i feel for you i know these things aren't cheap but that is what they have been selling for, and have been for a while now. Not saying that is a good thing or bad thing it's just the way it is, Lunar Lander was made in 1979, Atari's 1st vector game, they gotta be hard to find, it's been 31 years since they were made.

There is one right now on eBay for $300 plus $18 to ship, this is a pretty good savings vrs the $500 we have seen these sell for over the past while. So if your looking for a fair price, while still a lot of money i think $300 is the best your going to do. I wish you luck i really do and that you are able to save another LL and enjoy it for years to come.

The description provides some weird details.

"Selling a Lunar Lander set that had been convert to another game NOT BY ME lol but know someone is needing this very hard to find game for there collection so I thought I would get this out there I have no way to show screen shot without the machines so it will be as is where is Happy Bidding"

The converted to another game seems like a red flag...well...atleast for that price.

You could always use an Asteroids or Asteroids Deluxe PCB with Scott Brasington's Multigame. And since you don't already have a LL harness I'd think it would be an easier venture than someone with a non-working complete LL.

I know it wouldn't be "authentic" but as time goes on I think you'll be seeing more non-original PCBs made to replace problematic or rare boards.

Good luck. :beerchug:

I spoke to the guy that has the LL board on eBay right now. He got it from an op out of a box that was marked "working" so he did not have the cabinet. Too pricey for me. It is untested. Still a pretty good deal if you need one.
