WTB: Joust optical sticks

They are not the same as Bubbles sticks. Bubbles uses 8-ways. Joust uses 2-ways, and they are different. (Different shaped restrictor hole. And the bases are shorter than 8-ways.)

They do exist. I've had a few pass through my hands over the years.

@CharlieG from Overtime Arcade got a set of original optical 2 way joysticks that he installed in his Joust cabinet a couple years back. You might want to watch his video and see if you can source a pair. They are super rare. I believe this is the YT episode where he talks about them.

Yup, I got mine from @braedel -- he's a swell guy!

I have the wood portion of a Joust optical joysticks control panel if anyone needs one.
No joysticks, buttons or wires, just the wood.

Here's a few pics of the differences between the Joust optical and a converted Arch Rivals joystick I was going to use for Sinistar.

Edit - since the overall height of the joystick is about the same above the cp, you could probably rig up something using Arch Rivals sticks (but those aren't cheap anymore) and repro shafts from Brad. (Let me know if it's better to attach the images or just link the album)

Yes, converting to Sinistar (Red), or Blue (Bubbles, Mystic) take a bunch. I have also consumed ~40 of them making Blaster/Inferno sticks.

I also made a few pair for Splat! (8-Way optical - Red/Yellow). Also matched with a 4" Wico (Red/Yellow). I had to make custom (304 Stainless) shafts for the Wico's so I could use the exact same size/color balltops..

*If you have and Spare Arch Rival sticks, I'm always looking for more!..lol
