WTB: Hakko 481-201 diaphragm kit or valve plate

Did you have any luck finding this item?

I have several 700C units which use some of the same parts (481-201). I've been looking for some spare maintenance parts (pump parts, desoldering gun parts) with little luck. Really, all I need are the valve plates (481-213) as they are just now (after 15 years of use) starting to fail on me. When this part or the diaphram fails, the suction pretty much stops.

I'm starting to lose faith that I will find a supplier for these parts. I guess if I can't find them soon, I'll have to MAKE them myself. :) I'd hate for it to come to this, but I'm pretty handy at this sort of thing when I want to be.

Maybe I should consider making/selling repro parts for Hakko desoldering guns/stations.

Here's what the original part looks like (sorry, pic is small - grabbed it from the web):

(part number 481-213)

It's a very simple design high temp silicone rubber dual-valve plate.

Got a pic of them?

LOL, I was already considering running off a batch on the laser. I've even drawn up the part in solidworks just in case I do go through with it. Though, I'm not sure how high temp silicone will react with a 4000W cutter.... I've never run that material before.

In the meantime, I hand cut a few pieces from 1/32" sheet rubber material which seem to work just fine for now.

find someone with a laser cutter and cut em out man

Not sure if it will help, but all my ayoue stuff seems to be chinese knock-offs of hakko and I know many parts like tips, heater elements, etc.. are interchangeable. Maybe spares can be found off of them?

A few months ago I was searching around on Amazon.com and found a bunch of aoyue desoldering equipment. I could not help but notice the resemblance their stuff had to the Hakko equipment I've been using for the last two decades. I did some searching to find out if infact they were knock offs and the parts were interchangeable but ended up getting distracted by something else and promptly forgot about it. LOL

Thanks for the reminder.

I buy a lot of parts from these guys. A lot of times, they're completely out of stock on items which show they have stock. Frustrating.

Anyhow, thanks for the mention - I like 'em!

I knew somewhere I dealt with had a sale on these parts, but it turns out they don't have what you need. May wanna stock up on other bits though.

Go to (or better yet call) SRA
very helpful folks and they are the only US distributor (they are the ones selling on Amazon). They should be able to tell you for sure what is compatible.

Good luck!
