I imagine these go hand in hand.

but in the event they do not. I have a 2003 fore hard drive for a red board. it's new. extra for my game that I dont' need.

Might want to stick with Green. I think the Red board takes a differant and more expensive power supply. http://www.gatorcade.com/powergt.html Take a look.. not sure why.

Both boards also need a cable assembly power bypass: http://www.gatorcade.com/cableassypowerbypass.html

Good luck on the board hunt.
When I had a GT 2005 I ended up cutting the power connectors off a bad PC power supply and hooking those up to the switching power supply. Yellow=12V Red= +5V.

yeah, you can totally save yourself the 17 bucks and them some and make your own since it's standard pc hard drive power connector. If you're not comfortable with that you can buy it. I don't know if this works for the red boards though.. We need someone with a red board to let us know.

power supply-red board

The red board takes an atx style power supply, which can be robbed from any junk computer made in the last 8 or so years.

I believe the green board gets its power from the jamma connector.

The green board does not get power from Jamma. That I can swear by. When installing mine per manual it specifically says to NOT hook up the jamma to any power input. The power supply has 4 pin connectors that looks just like the ones that go into a pc hard drive. It plugs into a little Y cable (the 17 dollar one) and the Y cable plugs into two spots on the PCB. Jamma cable is only for coin acceptors, buttons, Video, audio, door lights, and stuff like that. You just DON"T run power into the Jamma Edge.
