Just acquired a Fluke 9010A (Thanks Paul!) and the internal display is shattered. I havent opened it up to see what it looks like, but I know I will be needing a new display at least. Anybody have a working display?

Here is whats left of the display assembly. Does anyone even have a dead or damaged 9010A to use as parts? Anything?

mine is broken to

I also have just got a fluke from the USA to the uk and mine as the nipple broken off, so thats now 2 of us looking for a display.

@thedrewster did you ever find a display?

i am wondering if i should modify it and use a LCD in it, but even finding a 1x32 character LCD is not easy

If anyone has a spare fluke display then i am after one too!!

HELP!!!!

Andrew

so what are the driver ics on the bottom edge of that pcb ? are they a ttl ic ?
how many pin interface does the VFD have to the driver pcb ??

Ebay is your friend. Should be able to get a one for parts for as little as $10.

I need to look, but I believe that I have a Fluke 9005a with a bad display. The actual display is fine, but the 8041 ROM with the display program was bad. I swapped chips with another 9010a and it worked. So.... assuming your ROM chip is good, you could have a working display. Would you be interested in:

A.) the whole 9005a unit
B.) The entire display board
C.) just the display (I would have to unsolder it....)

Send me a PM with what you are thinking. Shipping would vary (obviously...) depending on what you wanted, so let me know. I could probably fix the 9005a really easily... so not sure about option c.

And, no, $10 won't do it.

I confused the Fluke 9010a with the 8010a. Please disregard.

many thanks to everyone for your quick replys, I have today done some searching and have found a job lot of 4 new and unused FG326B2A VFD displays, there difference to the FG326A2 is an extra pin for comma which is easilly sorted! (not used!)

best of all all 4 displays for $70 total plus shipping from USA to UK

so a bit more than $10 per display but least there new so should be nice and bright!

Many thanks to all, i did find a FG326J2 would also work but the glass envelope was more square than rounded, but this display also had a extra pin for the comma

all these displays are made by Itron or now known as Noritake-Itron, but of course still to old for them to supply!

cheers
Andrew

Thanks Hypersport!

Now I gotta find some pods and the intelligence to use this contraption :p

Maybe one of us will figure out how to use it at least.

BTW, I don't have a spare z80. I do have a spare 6800, but I have not tested it yet. Kinda need to learn how to use the thing first. :)
