I'm setting up a second programming station, so was looking for an inexpensive EPROM (UV) eraser. Wanted to check here before buying one online; looks like the cheapest US/Canada sellers would be $50 - $60 shipped.

Anyone happen to have a spare to sell?

If you only need something to do a few at a time there are a ton of small-capacity erasers for around $10 on ebay. If you want something of quality, check out the used Spectroline erasers; they'll have stronger lamps (faster erase) and nice heavy aluminum construction -- they were a couple hundred new but you can probably get one for < $30.

You said you're setting up a second station..
If you go through a lot of chips and might want something overkill/awesome: buy a Spectroline PC-1100A. They can be had on ebay for $50 or less and will erase 75 eproms in ~5 minutes as they have a massive cold-cathode lamp (think neon) that snakes back & forth over the entire tray. I ran across one for $10 about 10 years ago and never knew I needed it :)

Thanks for the info. Most of those cheap erasers on eBay seem to be from Hong Kong (I'd prefer a more local seller if possible). I'll keep an eye out for the Spectroline models you mentioned.

Of course if anyone on the forum has one to sell also, I'm still interested.

+1 I agree

Just what I was after - got one of the Hong Kong specials for cheap from a fellow KLOVer. If I ever stumble on a Spectroline model I may pick it up just to have a spare - thanks for the info.
