Montana. Sorry thought it was listed right under my username. I won't find one anywhere near me, it's gonna have to be shipped, which I don't mind paying for.

I don't know if avidcollect is still importing games(he was bringing in astrocity cabs). he might be able to get one. Some people have issues with him, but if you need something checked out, his shop is about 10 min from my home.

I was moving stuff around in storage and I forgot I still had the namco excellena blue cab. I am going to post it up soon. Not an egret 2, but its a cool and very rare cab. The center plexi part can be changed and redrilled to fighting game layout.. The wiring in the control panel is 2 player jamma. It currently has a selector to play galaga and ms pac in it. I need to check, not sure if its dual jamma.

Thanks mrbill, I appreciate that. I got a lead on one earlier today, if that doesn't work out I'll definitely ask him.

Any reason why you want an Egret II?

A New Astro City is a better cab IMO, and it's half the price.

Rotate mechanism, great monitor, I am only interested in playing low res games.

Why is a New Astro City better?

A new Astrocity is a great cab for sure and very well designed...I've owned a few when I was heavy into candy cabs, but I'd take an Egret2 over that every day of the week. That said...In addition to a couple Egret2's, I do have an Astrocity2 and it kicks ass!

The new Astro's are pretty easy to tate if you lay the cab on its back, but the Egret tate mechanism works so smoothly. The only downside to the Egret2 is the monitor shroud. Its a shame the entire front doesn't come off like the Sega Astros. You have to remove and reinstall the shroud while its hanging upside down which can be interesting...but not too difficult.

A note on the Egret2's. My good friend Matsu is responsible for most if not all the Egret2's that made it to the states. He's brought at least 3 cargo containers full of them over there years (mebbe more). I asked him the other day why he doesn't bring more over as the demand is still strong. He told me he's tried but they are really hard to find. Apparently Taito pulled them out of the arcades and steamrollered hundreds into oblivion for tax writeoff purposes :(

Yeah, exactly why I want an Egret 2 :)

Thats a damn shame to hear about hundreds steamrollered into oblivion for tax writeoff purposes... wtf!?

When you find an Egret2, if planning on playing classic pcbs in addition to Jamma and newer stuff... you may will want to install a yoke flip switch. There are alot of games that are upside down as well.

Why is a New Astro City better?

The New Astro has the same monitor as the Egret II.... It's a dual res (15/24k) nanao.

I also think the Sega styling/colors are better looking.

Sega cabs have brand new parts still available for them (and all the control panels are interchangable).

Why would you need to rotate your monitor THAT much?

The Egret rotate mech is very slow, it takes almost as long to turn the crank a million times to flip it.

The Astro takes 30 seconds to rotate, I have done it all by myself (would suggest using a friend). And to get all the screws out/back in takes another 5 minutes.

But if that's worth an extra 500+ dollars, go for it.

My New Astro was 375$ picked up. An Egret II will run you 1,000 because of its "hype."

For the price of an Egret II you can buy a mint Sega Blast City, which is the nicest tri-sync cab around IMO.

An Astro and Blast is all you need to cover every base.
