WTB: EDOT padded "bumpers"

$120 bucks a set is totally reasonable if they are constructed just as the originals, which is a self-skinning foam over steel frame. Were they planning on constructing a new mold, or using an existing bumper to create a mold? I can sacrifice one of my bumpers to get the dimensions from the brake-formed steel frame, if necessary. I, for one, am very interested in some more information.

Considering EDOT cabs are being remade, I'd think there might be some interest...

They'd use my "good" one as the mold template. I'd be great if we had a sacrificial one that could be stripped to get an accurate metal form created. The next issue would be density of foam; it's hard to tell how firm the original foam was due to aging; hope people don't cry if it turns out to be a little firmer or softer than what they currently have, since there's probably no way to know how firm they originally were. As long as they don't tear easily, I think people will be happy with whatever gets reproduced.

I have all the original specs on these that I got with the other EDOT files. Don't go tearing yours up just yet because I have the specs for the metal brace in the foam. I can look into getting these reproduced like the mirrors if there is enough interest. Are there any other pieces for the EDOT you guys need in the form of hardware, non electrical items?

Actually, now that you mention it, the two channel-shaped chromed metal pieces at the foot of the entries are all rusted and pitted on mine. I could also use those. You could make a four-piece entry kit!

has anyone decided to reproduce the edot head foam bumpers. i know the one guy had started but i guess he got banned on here.
