I'm looking for a pair of the pads that go over the entry on an Environmental Discs of Tron. The manual calls them bumpers. Just like the photo, only nice :)

I am surprised no one has a solution for you. You would figure your not the 1st guy looking for that part..

Yeah, I'd bet if these were reproduced everyone with an EDOT would buy a pair. If they were just foam I would consider trying to make a mold, but they have an embedded metal bracket that complicates things.

Really? I will search my GM parts dist centers and see if I cant come up with a photo or even one on hand to compare. If I had to guess though I would bet it would be more along the lines of the early 3rd gen Fbody cars. 82-85. The interior in those years were slightly different then the later 86-92 versions. This may possibly come from an earlier version even like 80-81.

Check out this picture I came up with real quick. This is a solid piece but if memory serves me well, it used to be two pieces from GM. Take a look at the top section. You can kinda see the seem where the original would be split in two. http://www.classicindustries.com/firebird/parts/g7556.html

Ebay listing 250751441657 and check out the third picture listed from the bottom view. Hard to tell and not having a perfect one to really judge off of myself I can't tell.

Let me know if you come by anything. I spent some time tonight with Google images and wasn't able to come up with a definitive answer. I can get a few more photos of mine this week if that would help.

Searched threw the GM parts center with no luck. I checked everything around that time frame to see if anything was even close with no luck. The GM pieces are one solid piece. For some reason I was thinking they were two. I will keep looking in my free time here.

Thanks for looking, I appreciate it!

Have looked into taking them into a automotive upholstery shop and having them recovered. Some of those places can do amazing work.

Here's a few photos of a good one. Post these around some car restoration forums asking "what car did this arm rest come from?" and see if you get any responses. Dimensions are ~ 13" x ~ 1 1/2" x ~ 1 1/2".

Thank you for the photos and measurements. Turns out they're not from a car. Earlier this year, I spent some time unsuccessfully trying to track down the original molds. I traded e-mails with several old Midway folks, including George Gomez who is credited with the cabinet design. George said he definitely had a hand in designing those bumpers, but he couldn't remember who the original vendor was.

They are actually a self-skinning foam, not upholstered at all. Really need molds to do it right, and I can't find them (see post above).

I did finally get some information on these parts. They were definitely designed by Midway, and were originally produced by Dove Products in Lockport, Illinois. Unfortunately, Dove Products went under some time ago. I was able to find a good number for one of the owners, but he did not return my call.

So, I'm still looking for a pair :)

I found a place that said they could do them but they'd probably cost ~$60 a piece. If there's interest, I'll follow up.
$120 bucks a set is totally reasonable if they are constructed just as the originals, which is a self-skinning foam over steel frame. Were they planning on constructing a new mold, or using an existing bumper to create a mold? I can sacrifice one of my bumpers to get the dimensions from the brake-formed steel frame, if necessary. I, for one, am very interested in some more information.
