Does anyone have a degauss coil available that works, is not that expensive, and has a regular US plug? The inexpensive ones on eBay seem to have only European plugs, and the ones available in the US go for over $40... Anything out there?

Figured for around 8 bux even if it wasn't much good i wouldn't have lost anything. :)

Awesome to know!! :) I haven't had a chance to try mine yet, but was hoping it worked okay. Sure not as good as a fancier one but the price seemed right. :)

That was what my thoughts. If it didn't work I only had less than ten in it. But it fixed mine up. Took a couple of passes, but oh well what do you expect for less than 10 bucks.

I have a real coil but I prefer to use a bulk tape eraser. I swear they work much better. They are always on ebay and can be picked up cheap.

Huh. I attacked a trouble monitor with a bulk tape eraser and must have tried 15 times with it and it didn't help that much.

Then I bought one of the bigger coiled degaussers and it fixed it in 2 passes. I haven't looked back since.

Of course, that was a 27" screen with the issue...

I once used my cordless drill on a customers TV. I worked at Directv and I was out on a install and the guy had a huge purple spot in the corner. He said his TV was busted, I grabbed my drill and used that TV was Perfect in 2 passes. The customer had said he had never seen anything like that before. I got a Praise letter to the CEO of the company for that.
