Hello All,

I have a cabaret Wizard of Wor that is need of, what I am told, is a custom chip. Specifically, the board needs the Bally custom data IC C2860D-1. Does anyone have one for sale?

Thank you! I hope that everyone has been well and happy.

Sam

This chip is more commonly known as the "Data" custom, the "U15" chip, or the "116xx" custom. It's super common for it to fail, and many folks are looking for one at any given time.

You've likely been told, but it's long out of production and also out of stock, and thus only found in other like games (WOW, Gorf, Space Zap, Robby Roto, etc.) as well as in the Bally Astrocade home console. Meaning, it has to be cannibalized off another board, specifically the CPU board.

Good luck with your hunt.

Hello,

Thank you! I appreciate the information. I really hope I can find this unicorn of an IC as I really dont want to sell a broken game or part it out. Plus, I have not even had a chance to play it yet.

The problem there is….
a) Astrocades are collectible now so they're not cheap
b) everyone knows they have the customs inside so the get bid up by both those collectors and the Gorf\WOW bunch
c) the early units had no heat sink and those customs got pretty toasty too from those consoles sitting on '70's shag carpet…. so those customs fail often too

YMMV
