I bought 3 crane machines from someone on here and have had nothing but issues with all of them. Tons of extra money stuck into them already.

I'm working on this Double Play and the main crane works, but it has another crane inside of it that gives a second try to pickup candy.
The up/ down motor stopped working. Bought a new one. Found out that the old motor probably died because the shaft/ gear that is suppose to move is pretty much seized.
I removed the motor off the gear and it is really, really hard to spin. It should be fairly easy to spin. I'm guessing they used the wrong grease and it acted like glue.

This is the plastic piece that was stuck to the shaft. It's like it melted.

Tried the manufacturer Coastal Amusements, Inc. and they don't have most of the parts anymore.

Lesson learned. Do not buy old crap that you can't get parts for.

The whole problem was the above plastic piece was stuck (like fused) to the metal rod not allowing it to spin. Couldn't find any parts so decided to use a drill bit on the inside of plastic piece. Making the hole a little bit bigger allowed it to turn just fine now.

The stuck problem probably blew out the up/ down motor. ~$200 replacement to replace that.

Stupid problem, but the crane is fixed and working for now.

Out of order again.
Now the right (candy) crane has an issue going back up. Make a grinding noise on the way back up. Makes it completely up sometimes, other times it stops and errors out.

I really like the concept of this crane and it gets played, but I can't find parts for it.
Might be time to just get a stand alone candy crane machine.

Fixed this machine again today.

Found a parts gantry.
Replaced the plastic part in the red circle as it seemed a bit damaged. Had one anyways.
Replaced the brass gear in the green circle with a plastic one as it was worn down. Probably why it made the grinding noise.
Also had to adjust the switch that tells it that the claw is all the way up. Seems like it wasn't telling it to stop going up.

Tested a few games and it doesn't grind anymore and works like it should.
We'll see how long it lasts this time.

Still be interested in the whole candy crane part if anyone has one.

Man, I could not find a new crane gantry to fit the candy side.
Finally, I saw this crane kit and the gantry looked really close to the one I have. The closest I have seen so far.
I gave it a try. The gantry was a perfect fit. I used my original wiring and claw/ coil to make it work.
We'll see how long this fix lasts this time.
