I'd love to figure out of to reprogram the ROM cards since they're all the same, unfortunately they have security PAL chips which nobody has dumped yet.
I play this in MAME all the time. Didn't that require ROM dumping?
Yeah it has all the EPROMs but it doesn't have the security PAL chip's dump, they're extremely tough to do and the MAME driver probably just has a software work-around to bypass the protection, I think what it does is juggle around the EPROM addresses by encoding them with one PAL chip on the motherboard and decoding using the one on the ROM card.

The rom cards are not all the same. I have been studying the Bally Sente system for some time.
I will take some pics of the variations i have. Snake pit is different than Stocker which is different than Hat Trick. I had steph from hobby roms burn chicken shift roms for me and after a lot of experimenting I was able to work around the pal security with an unpopulated hat trick cart. I love the game and wish I had a cp and or marquee to scan and recreate. I will take some pics and post soon.
Cool! How did you manage to get around the chip and what does it do? Did you have to modify the main board too? I'd love to create a Stompin card too, the manual has the schematics for the floor controls and while it would be a project it looks quite reproducible.
