well the solution to his question took a simple google search, dunno why that was so complex to do to warrant a post, but hey. thanks! :)

Just jokes...certainly not trying to give anyone a hard time (but you KNOW you're going to use that new word again soon...TOTAL ANNOOBULATION!!!!!). :)

yar my posts are mostly for the lulz, don't condemn me for lack of apathy/emotions yet!

anyways, i hope the OP found his POT and lived happily ever after!

That's not the correct part.

Most Atari cabs (i.e., any that use AR-I's or AR-II's) use a 50-ohm, 12.5W rheostat (i.e., a high current pot). Different animal.

This part is specified simply as 'Volume Control' in most of the Atari manuals (including Centipede), with no details. However the Space Duel manual actually provides the above specs for that part number.

Centipede manual (see page 30):

Space Dual manual (see page '3-5'):

In any case, you can get one below. They are usually more expensive, so $13 shipped is a good price.

good thing you chimed in! i was just going off a previous dupe post for a 5k audio pot the OP asked earlier...

Now that you pointed out these ninty NOS atari volume controller thingies, i purchased one myself! yay spare parts!

Thanks to ThomasM for starting this thread. I've needed a volume pot for my Asteroids Deluxe, for a while now. I searched ebay and didn't find what I was looking for. I found some on the web, but they were over $30 a piece. I really hadn't looked any further, until I saw this thread. I subscribed and it paid off! Much thanks to andrewb for the ebay link. My potentiometer has been bought and paid for. I have always wondered what Asteroid Deluxe sounds like. I guess now I'll know.
