WTB Black widow control panel

Why not get on the two threads for the repro CP (Takeman) and repro CPO (AtariScott)?

I'm hoping to find one cheaper than that. It's $70 just for the cpo, and I don't even know what the price on the cp will be (unless I somehow missed it). Then the price to populate it. By the time I buy the complete CP, I may as well just buy the whole game lol.

I'm not sure you're going to find one much cheaper. They seem to be going for around $300.00 when they show up, and then they generally still need new CPOs.

Show me where one sold for $300 that needed a new cpo...

If that's the case, I'll fill the holes on the extra gravitar cp I bought for $65 and make it a black widow.

once you fill in by welding & straightening panel & bondoing the smaller pinholes holes & re drilling all the joystick, push button and bolt holes, filing the corners for the square bolts, re paint repeatedly until its in a nice factory looking condition you may re think that thought

only saying from my experience from repairing many a converted panel back to its original configuration for myself and others its a time consuming real PITA

i have done it from time to time, but definitely not for the feint of heart

I was also going to quote ~$250-$300 for the *used* BW populated panel (with avg condition CPO and good sticks). I'm sure I've seen this pricing before (or higher) BUT these hardly ever go on sale.

I do believe, however, it is worth the investment to have a nice panel. BW command good coin. Putting in a nice repro CP with repro CPO with 4" sticks would provide good value to the overall game. YMMV

I was thinking $200 would be a reasonable price. Any more than that and it only makes sense to just use a gravitar panel. I'm not looking for a mint condition NOS panel or anything, just looking for a panel to swap on my gravitar cab when I play BW. I really wish there were good spots on the gravitar panel to just add 2 sticks, but anywhere I put them will look off.

Looking thru the archives, it seems 2014 and 2015 were the best years to be in the market for a BW CP (populated). (maybe cheaper in previous years as well; most likely)

One went for $125 + shipping.
Other nicer one went for $160 + shipping.
(both listed asking prices; but sold quickly)

So, $200 in 2016 is reasonable. :)
The trick is finding one. :(

I do not necessarily approve of the following photo -> (though this was a BW with GRAV added; and not GRAV with BW added) :)

Ever consider a GRAV/BW/SD multi setup? An SD panel "might" be easier to find and perhaps adapt?

Best bang for the buck (but difficult to find and over-kill if not doing multivector) ->

Yeah, I've seen that one. It doesn't look bad. Like you said though, my problem is that I still need a BW CP for that since it doesn't line up nicely like that on a gravitar panel. In the end I'd like to have a separate panel for each.

Follow in Doug's steps -> ;)

I actually have an extra space Duel control panel also lol. I thought about that, but there's just too much going on there. I also haven't looked into how difficult it would be to swap a SD board into my gravitar.

Bill has some good info on SD/GRAV/BW panels and wiring for the CP, making an adapter, etc.

Best bet, IMHO (as I've already stated) - go the repro route with the CP and CPO and don't look back. :)

Thanks. Do we know the price yet on the repro CP?

I can't sign up for it if I have no idea what the price will be.

I would expect CP to be similar price to the recent build of SD->MH panels.
I.e. $80 punched; $70 blank + shipping ($20? to US).
But won't know till Takeman makes a FS thread.
Did you ask Takeman if he had any blanks left over? Then cut your own holes if you like cutting holes. :)

I would expect the BW CPO to be inline with what he's quoted or perhaps lower due to the sign-up popularity? YMMV $60+9 shipping (US)

If it ends up being $100 shipped for the CP, I'll go that route. I was expecting it to be more.
