WTB: Badlands

well, there are 2 badlands.

One laserdisc and extremely rare and the Atari one which only had 10 dedicated in the usa. Supposedly 554 were made in Ireland, so a re-import might be the way to go on that one. Not sure if the irish cab is the same as the usa cab though. Either way, not cheap.

Fascinating. Well I'm looking for the Atari version, so I guess all I'm going to find is a conversion.

or you could find a dedicated klax and drop in a conversion kit and be pretty much just like the dedicated.

The one thing your going to have to do is find a solution for the gas pedal. Badlands used a strain gauge(I think that's what its called). Essentially a gel in rubber ball that the pedal pressed on. I doubt you will find one that still works. the ball has cracked and the fluid is leaked out. Pretty sure you can adapt a standard pot pedal.

Funny you mentioned the pedal issue, the only machine I've seen in person was at an arcade in Erie Pennsylvania, and both pedals were broken, lol.

I got a conversion in a gremlin cabinet about 15 years ago and the pedals were bad. just a leaky mess. I think I have an NOS one somewhere with my airborne. I think airborne might have used the same device for a brake.

Atari Badlands with the 2 pedals? Super Sprint with guns!? I've got a conversion in decent shape. But it is a conversion. Originally in Bally/Midway NFL Football cab. Pedals have been converted to micro switches since originally it had the gooey pedals that leaked.

If interested we could work something out. If not, no worries!

I have a conversion badlands.

The pedals are digital. Mine has nice red happ pedals.

did anyone play badlands back in the day? did the original pedals function with variable speed? if it varied, then microswitch should be last resort. pot pedal is what is needed/should be used.
