Hey guys,
I just picked up a Baby Pac last night and the MPU is just destroyed by acid damage.
So I need to get a known working one to see how far gone this thing is.
Thanks!

ERIC

Contact Steve Kulpa. He does good work on these boards for a fair price. Even ones you would think are not fixable.

Think Steve could work his magic on THIS!

I have fixed way worse than that one. The problem is the time it takes to do them right. I have a pile of them here in my "when I get time to get to them" shelf. I did finish one a week ago but its sold already. Im working on vidiot boards today so I will have 2-3 of them available. After those I might get back on the mpu boards but its hard to say.

Hmmm... I'm surprised. It's actually delaminating In the lower left hand corner.
How much do you sell the Vidiot boards for? I'm definitely interested.

PM sent on the vidiot board.

Btw, your vidiot board will at least need some sockets replaced. What happens is the electrolyte from the battery runs down on the vidiot board right down the center. The sockets will usually look ok with a quick visual inspection but if you remove them you will find green pins and even some that ate completely off.
When I redo these board I just bite the bullet and replace ALL the sockets on the board. Same goes for the MPU's.

Why not just buy an ultimate MPU board? That's the first thing i'm doing when i go to restore mine.

that board is very repairable - but your pictures aren't - buy a camera for Gods sake! Phones are just that - PHONES, not cameras!

Most people don't know that you should/have to touch the area of the screen you want to focus on before taking a pic with their phone. my phone actually takes a 1/2 way decent photo when used right.

gl on the repair or acquisition of a new board qbass

Well,
It's $200 for the ultimate MPU board... that's a little pricey for this cab since I'm not sure exactly what the issues are yet.
If I can find a working one here, get mine repaired or get one from Riptor I can use the extra $$$ on other issues on it.

Build your own BRAND new one then.....

$121 plus post BRAND NEW

http://www.homepin.com/bally35.html

That's a nice option except it's actually over $200 when you add all the ICs needed...THEN I still have to put it together. Not to mention it's coming from Australia and who knows how long postage would take.
At that rate I'd be better off with the Ultimate MPU.

Thank you for the suggestion though. I do appreciate it.

I realise it all ads up - postage isn't an issue though as all the boards I post to the USA only take between 5 and 7 days to arrive (air post).

It all depends on what you want to do. If you just want the game running you either buy a rebuilt mpu or an ultimate mpu. If you like to build kits and enjoy that sort of thing, get the homepin kit. If you like to be punished and abused you can rebuild an acid damaged original board. Once you spend the time rebuilding an original board you will quickly realize the cost for the kit or replacment board is well worth it.
