I have a bad one on my Atari 4 player football and need a replacement.

It looks like the one in the picture.

Just Curious

So MikeyDee if you don't mind me asking... how did you arrive at the conclusion it was bad? Some are obvious due to physical damage im sure, so it would be obvious. But is there a way to test these boards with a multimeter? or somethings else.
I recently rebuilt some of the trak balls for my 4 player football game. In one of these rebuilds (the only one I installed two new boards on I find the players wont go side to side any more) ... The reason I guess i am asking about your testing is to eliminate the encoder board in problem solving my issue....
Thanks
Flip

god forbid there is more than one type of these boards say a X and a Y ... of the 18 or so of these i have there are a few different layouts (mostly resistor/transistor differences)

I tested the trakballs in the test mode. 3 of them work fine. The 4th one only moved on one axis.

I then swapped the bad one with one of the others and it worked fine.

So, I determined that it's the encoder pcb, not the main logic board or wiring.

There are different revisions of the encoder board, but no difference in the x and y axis.
