I'll start off by saying I don't need this right away, probably not for a few months at the earliest.

Here's the deal, my best friend just left to go overseas last weekend, to serve for our country. He's not a huge video game nut like we are, but he absolutely loves Area 51. I was talking to a few friends at his going away party, and we discussed about all of us pitching in and buying him this game for his return home present. He returns at the end of Oct. 2011, so there's plenty of time to search out and find one, and get with the other friends to see who's pitching in what. I'll most likely cover the purchase, just so it's between myself and whoever as far as money is concerned, and then collect from the friends later.

Anyway, being that it's for my best friend, who's serving for our country, I'm looking for a damn good machine. I'm not looking for a deal/score and buy one at $100(unless you're that generous :D ), and I'm not going to pay huge amounts for junk. I believe in paying good money for quality stuff. If it's a solid game at a solid price, we can talk business. It doesn't have to be mint, but at least good to great condition, depending on the price. Looking around the $500 range, give or take either way depending on the machine. If it's worth it, we'll do business. Would consider the Area 51 / Maximum Force combo if it comes around. I'd like it to be a no hassle machine, everything working. If it's something simple needing fixing, I might be able to take care of that, as I am still new myself to digging around in these machines.

Looking for a solid deal within a 3 hour drive(one way) to get it, closer would be very much appreciated of course. Unless something pops up before then, I won't be looking hard into this until around Feb./March 2011. Get passed the holidays and tax time, and then it will be time to find one. Just putting feelers out there now, plus, I still need to get this OK'ed by his wife, lol. I'll talk to her Tuesday and make sure it's a go before anything else. And I need to measure their doors to make sure it will fit inside the house :)

So please, if you have one available and don't need to move it right away, or know someone who has one, please PM me or post here and we'll talk.

I thank you all for who can/will help with this, as it means a lot to me, and it will mean a lot to him for sure. And I'll make sure he knows that KLOV represents our heroes in the military(past, present, & future), and that this community helped make this possible. Again, thank you for your time reading this, and if you can do anything to help out with this gift.

Take care,
SR

Area 51

You may wanna try Ebay. I have seen several on there in the range you want. I myself just picked up a Area 51 in a original dedicated cabinet and it was only $150. It was still in a working arcade and besides some cosmetic touch ups I have to do to it, it is still in great shape for a game of that age. I dont know if you have any "Tilt" arcades in malls in your area, but if so, they sell all their games.

Good Luck

OK, time to update this thread. I have found one of these combo games, and now I'll be looking for an Area 51/Maximum Force marquee if someone has one available. Since I don't have the cab here at the moment, I know the measurement of the cab is 29.25" wide, so the marquee would have to be 28.00" to 28.50" I'm guessing?

Either PM me or post in here if you have one available please, thanks.
