What is the difference in the new board A and B? What is the current version out there? Last time I ordered one is was rev 9 I think. Looking to buy New A board if that is the better one to buy.

The B boards IIRC have a higher failure rate. I had a couple B's and never had an issue with them. Nix on here sells the new smaller version but I'm not sure if that qualifies as an A or B version.

he says the smaller version is a "b" but I have used it, and it works perfectly with the trackball directly connected to it, so my review of the small board is a thumbs up.

WAy back when they did (when they were 39's and 48's), but no more. The last issue was with the trackball connector, but that seems to be fixed, too.

Current B versions are selling for $50 direct from the supplier + shipping. My boss buys only B's (he's cheap) and we have never had a board not work...

Who is the supplier for these? I might want to pickup 3 or so.. website?

I would also like this information. I am building a few games for some arcade friends and it would be nice to get a bunch of these direct. Thanks!

email is [email protected]

Shipping isn't cheap. Figure $24 for one board, $36 for two boards, etc. It is fast shipping though.

So, technically it's about $75 for one board. You may check Nixs' prices for B's. And some people don't like sending payment info (or PayPal) to a company in Hong Kong, but we've ordered from them for years and never had an issue...

I've ordered from them a couple times and just ordered 2 more on this last email. Works out to 70 shipped per board and that is a good enough reason for me to buy direct. They ship real fast as Mod pointed out, as well.

I would stay away from the "B" boards. I generally warranty my games, so it just isn't worth it. I have found that about half of them fail in the first year.

I can only speak on my personal experience. I have had "B" boards lose control panel inputs, lose sound, stop keeping high scores, the video has gone out, and I have had a few that just died. For an extra $50, it is worth it to get something more reliable.

Now it had been a few years since I used the "B" boards, so maybe they are better now.
