Wtb 4900 Yoke

There's a couple different 4900 yokes....not all are compatible. Does the old one still have it's part number sticker on it?

Hope you got the right one. if you needed it for med-res and got a standard-res, you might have a problem. And if you have an early chassis with an older yoke, or vice versa, you're going to have foldover that won't adjust out....

Hmmmm, that might be whats wrong with my QBert monitor. The top and bottom of the screen are curved slightly and it WONT adjust out. Its freshly recapped and checked out fully. Its only noticable on the into screen, gameplay is fine so I never worried about it.

Big difference between curved slightly and:

Yes, i know that isn't a 4900 (most likely) but it shows foldover...

Modessitt, Is that a Nintendo Monitor you are showing?

If so you probably know that a bad cap 407 gives it that foldover look.

yes, I know that (if it's a nintendo monitor). That is a pic I found on the web showing vertical foldover for those who aren't sure what I mean.

There is a early-version K4900 chassis that has a specific yoke that must be matched with it for a perfect picture. If you put it with the wrong yoke, or have the right yoke but a later-version K4900 chassis, you'll get this result and won't be able to adjust it out.

Posting here so the person trying to buy one makes sure to get the right one...

Hey Riptor, Here's the numbers from the Williams amendment...

Early production 4900 yokes...#202-111-1194 & #202-111-1201....these two are interchangeable

Later production yoke numbers...#202-111-1258 & #202-111-1264....these two are interchangeable.

The easiest way to tell an early chassis from a later production run.....vertical damping pot. The vertical damping pot was added (along with other stuff) to the later production run.

That's almost true.

If you look at the back of the chassis, it will have a silk-screened number underneath the flyback. If it ends in -023, then it is the early version, won't have the vertical dampening pot, and needs to match the early yoke #'s Edward posted above.

However, there are many different versions (-034, -040, etc.) and I once saw a -051 (or close) that didn't have a vertical dampening pot but used the later yoke...
