Hi All,

I'm trying to get my Atari Middle Earth boards repaired and am missing the 2111A RAM. Does anyone have one spare or know of where to get them anymore?

Thanks,
Andy

Was there not a comparable ram like a 2114 or smth

Not that I'm aware of. The 2111a had completely different pinouts. The 2111a has the ground on pin 8 of an 18 pin chip. Also, the 2111a has a pin for output disable to put the chip into Hi-z mode during the write cycle that the 2114 does not. The only close replacement might be a 5101. Completely different pinout but, the speeds would be too slow. Maybe someone knows of another.

Although, It might be possible to adapt a 6116. A 24 pin chip to an 18.
Remap the pins and hold the unused pins. At least those are easier to get as for right now.

I bought a bunch of them from quest components for the repro lunar landers... not sure if I have any spare...

Arcadechips.com should have them too.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the late response. Been a hectic week.

Unfortunately neither retailer mentioned seems to have them in stock. I have contacted Arcade Chips just in case.

@HudsonArcade If you do end up having a couple spare i would be very interested in grabbing them. Atari pinball boards are near impossible to get repaired over here and these are the last chips i need to hopefully have my boards completely rebuilt.

I will definitely be looking further into the use of other chips to replicate the 2111a functionality.

Thanks,
Andy
