WTB: 1954 Chicago Coin Home Run Legs or Comparable PLEASE HELP
Please excuse me if I sound dramatic but I recently got myself into a heap of trouble w/my husband & I am running out of resources to help bail me out.
Here's what happened: We have a two-car garage that has been stuffed to the gills w/junk for well over a decade (since before I met my husband, in fact). We are getting ready to redo our pool area & were in desperate need for some place to store the furniture around the pool while the construction is being done. My husband has always made a big deal about having to clean up all the junk in the garage every year, which he then spends months on end moving things around but at the end of the day, the garage is just as packed as when he started.
I had an employee at the house dropping off loads of mulch & making a few trips to the dump so I had the bright idea to take advantage of the situation & finally clean out the garage full of junk & move the furniture in for the winter.
My employee & I worked our butts off all morning in the garage & even stored all of the furniture. He & I even sifted through the piles of sawdust I swept up & put every single thing on my husband's work bench in case it was something he needed.
Unfortunately, I mistook my husband's 1954 Chicago Coin Home Run pinball machine's legs for an old paddle fan & loaded it in w/one of the dump loads. The garage looked amazing after we were through but my husband was less than happy after discovering the legs to his prized pinball machine (which apparently is being repaired) had been taken to the dump.
That was the day before yesterday. I have had to endure his wrath & rantings ever since. I am now fully aware of just how valuable those pieces of wood were/are & spent the entire day yesterday at the dump since before dawn attempting to retrieve them from the dump.
My husband, my employee, myself & a multitude of city workers did everything we could (even w/the help of a front-end loader), but were still unable to locate even one of the legs. Which leaves us w/no way of even replicating the original legs/hardware.
I was hoping that there would be a bunch of similar machines being parted out on eBay etc. but unfortunately I'm not having the best of luck.
I'm sure my lack of knowledge on the subject isn't helping my efforts so I was hoping to turn to the knowledgeable members of your forum for some guidance.
Does anyone have some legs similar to the originals or know how to go about obtaining a set? If nothing else, a point in the right direction would mean the world to me. I am more than motivated to put in the time/effort to fix this so I can restore the peace in my house, preferably before my seven-year-old daughter comes home from school.
Thank you for your time. Your expedience is greatly appreciated.
