WTB: 19" VGA CRT monitor for use with JROK

Very slightly Frankenstein-ish.. Original tube's neck snapped, and someone dropped in a donor tube. WG 19K906 chassis. Red is way off on this one, but it may have other issues.

Also have a second CRT in my Defender that has become really dim the last few years. Less of a priority, but I'd love to get that sorted eventually.

And that's cool you're in the north bay! I'm in Alameda, and visit Petaluma at least once a month to drink at the tiki bar there - Kapu.

Chad does repairs if you do want to swap out the chassis. https://arcadecup.com/ Great guy, quality work, fantastic communication.

Hopefully you get yours going soon! I can tell ya' though, personally out of all the things I see on an old arcade, if the the crt isn't there and it's swapped out with something else (led or higher resolution), it sort of breaks the immersion of the cabinet. Doesn't matter if it has all new side art or it still has gum from 1986 still stuck on the cpo, the monitor is what is what gives it the "Wow!, this is a real arcade machine!" Of course, better to have something that works and you can afford, but for pure visual appeal, i vote get your monitor fixed or find a comparable swap. Sorry, I know you probably weren't looking for an opinion!

Maybe you can find a cheap vga as a temporary place holder on Craigslist.

What we need is a local loaner program! Use a part while yours get fixed!

WG 19K7906 i assume you mean...

i don't have that chassis to trade unfortunately but can help repair maybe, was the red off before the tube swap? has a cap kit been done? when the tube was swapped was the yoke changed or from a tv?

whats up with the defender monitor besides being dim, what model, any history...?

nice (re alameda & petaluma), are you new to the area?

Yup - typo on the 7.

As for as the yoke/tv thing - I do not know. It was long enough now that the details are lost. I'll take a couple of pics and post here.

Thanks!!!!

@gwarble - pics as requested. First two are from the frankensteined Robotron monitor. Last 3 are for the dimming Defender monitor.

Hmm, well I wouldn't be able to help with that frankenstein at all, I wouldn't know where to start (is that a second flyback hacked in? why are there two anode wires? weird)

The Defender looks like a G07 (electrohome) which are pretty easy to work on, has it had a cap kit? do its color and screen adjustments work?

No cap kit and the colors do adjust, albeit poorly.

So, it still seems like I need help finding a replacement monitor for the Robotron. Anyone? :)

Thats a k7000A , they used that funky flyback set up. They don't make replacement fly backs for those, but sounds like flyback is still working. Think couple other small differences then a standard k7000

Ive had k7000s that rebuilds fixed all the color issues. At first I attributed it to the cap kit, but later I figured out that it was probably all the reflow work.
Not sure what the second chassis is (g07? I didn't go check my spare to compare, but your Pic quality leaves a bit to be desired)

Paul400 is hard to beat for affordable and fast.
If the second Pic is a g07, tronguy is probably the best.

Just watch some videos on how to discharge the chassis.

Replacing the entire monitor would be a last resort for me.
