WTB: 19" Sony pvm

Ah, gotcha. Yeah, if one reads through the thread, there are some very specific requirements of good candidate sets besides just having an rgb osd. There are specifics to the vpp and other settings that must be met. If they're out of spec according to the repair manual specs for the model tv in question, then it doesn't matter that it has an rgb osd, it's not a candidate for conversion.

Viletim (etim of nesrgb fame) is on that thread quite a bit and provides some good info.

For the 27" Sony tv I have, it's been converted often and the electronics are all figured out, making the conversion process much easier.

My jvc model is a D-Series, but not one that anyone has converted that I can find. That one, I'll have to do my homework on!!

It might just be easier to find a pvm :)

well those Sony 19" pvm's are never going to be cheap (unless you get lucky,
or buy a broken one, or the seller is stupid), the average price is $300~500 all day long.

Your better (and cheaper) option is to opt for a nice Commodore 64 monitor,
albeit they are only 13~14". Otherwise, you're going to be paying out your ass
for a nice sony PVM 19" crt! good luck! :)

I bought a pair of PVM 2530s back in '08 for $5 each at a surplus auction. I had to solder on a DB25 to a clipped VGA cable (for MAME work, though similar for run-off from your cab I'd guess...). Picture and general color were awesome. I sold them for $250 each, plus shipping. I would've kept them, but there was overscan on 240 resolutions that wasn't fixable without perhaps getting inside the case; and the barrel-type tube was a little weird, particularly on scrolling games (a common quip). Oh yeah, and they were heavy.
