Anybody have a real nice 19" monitor that'll work in a pacman cocktail? I'm building one for a friend on the one in mine needs a cap kit and maybe a new flyback, at least my uneducated guess. Looking for a nice one with no screen burn and real nice picture quality. OR, if somebody wants to offer up to put a cap kit and flyback on mine, I would pay for that to be done if it makes sense. In Northern, VA Manassas area.

Thanks, David

pacman

If your building one, do you need the cocktail monitor frame for it or do you have that already?

I have the frame in there now with a monitor. Is there a specific monitor type I need, CGA I guess? I understand that some 19" arcade monitor are different than others, like maybe nintendo ones won't work inside a Pacman cabinet?

Thanks, David

yep nintendo is kind of its own thing..

youll want a electrohome g07, wells gardner 4600,4900, or k7000. good luck finding any without any burn. There were some modern companies offering korean monitors for sale but i think the supply of those has dried up too.

the mount you have there is solid gold. Youll have to remove all the guts of the old monitor and save the frame. then install all the donor guts of the replacement monitor into the original frame..

OR.. you could try to fix what ya have.

Have to double-check but I think mine is an Electrohome. It's likely repairable and maybe just needs recapping, but monitors scare the be-jabbers out of me. I've discharged them before, but at this point it just is something I prefer not to do. If there was somebody local to me in Northern VA that wants to recap it and check it out, let me know.

BTW, I wish the monitor frame was truly solid gold ;-)

Thanks

That's a nice offer, thanks. I have a friend coming over tomorrow who might be willing to help me get the chassis off. I would be willing to ship it if he can do that. Can you email me at the below address? Thanks, David
