Wrestlemania PCB into MK3 or UMK3? Rom Swap Possible?

I have a Wrestlemania PCB. I read somewhere that I could turn the Wrestlemania PCB into a Mk3 or UMK3 by changing the roms? Is that true? The Wrestlemania board I have some Mortal Kombat 3 on it in a few places. Hoping the forum could get me going in the right direction. Here is a pic of my Wrestlemania board.

yup yup, security chip is the only thing you'll need other than a burner/eraser. funny tho in the test menu under board info or w/e it may still say "WWF Unit" after the conversion as i have a Rampage World Tour that i bought that says just that (odd)

My RWT says the exact same thing....weird.

I wonder if they're conversion boards as i have another RWT that just says wolf unit.

Yes, I have both UMK3 and MK3 security chips , thanks for the hookup guys.

On a side note, I made a monstrocity of a MK3 board, I wired it all up crazy and stacked chips on top of each other to make a single wolf board have both MK3 and UMK3 and Juggernaut. just move a switch to change which boots lol. When I get a chance Ill post a picture of it working, right now I ahve a graphics glitch I need to track down.

ToplessZ, do you think it would be possible to convert a MK3 (or any other wofl unit board) board into the Judge Dredd beta?

I think that game was released on the T-unit hardware or Y-unit hardware that MK2 uses, but I have never even messed with it. Ill have a look at it in a few weeks and see if I can come up with anything. (Im going out of town for two weeks starting saturday)

Judge Dredd was T-unit.. according to system16.com and various MAME resources.

as to whether you can do it or not hinges on which graphics chip it uses. since there were only a few T-unit games, I think that was Midway's security algorithm lol

case in point, if you rom-swapped between MK1 and NBA Jam, neither board would boot, cause the PLCC graphics chips are different. and with the NBA Jam TE upgrade kit, it took a different graphics chip from NBA Jam.
