looks freakin' sweet. wish i could hit the lottery to afford all these badass new pins...

What made it "less" painful was Jack's payment plan. Spent over a year making payments on the machine, otherwise I doubt I would have one. If I remember, he'll likely offer similar payment options on the next machine.

no, i totally agree....he had a pretty solid system set up for this release.

the problem was that i had TRON: LE on my mind and the wifey wasn't gonna go for two uber-expensive pin purchases...even if one was a monthly pay option.

I'm sort of regretting not getting in on this now, but after they jacked the price up $1000 (post early adopter stage) it was pretty much out of the question. And at this point I'd have to put down almost $2500 up front to play catch up.

The theme also still isn't really a must have for me (though aside from using digitized images they couldn't have made it look much more enticing). BUT depending on what JJP's next pin is I will probably get in on the ground floor with that one.

Still not sure how I feel about the no doubt incredibly distracting LCD display either.

I think it looks amazing.

Looks like alot to do, and I am hoping it is not a case of "too much" if that makes sense. Visually I think they hit it out of the park. I hope I get to play one some day.

Could definitely hit LL directly with the right flipper.... not sure about the B and the A...those might be "fluke" targets. :p

Not "pointless". It's pinball. Remember not all shots can be hit with the flippers. There's bounce, skill and pure luck involved. How easily do you think the "There's no place like home" targets are going to be to hit as the ball is headed out the left outline?

If you can get them every time it becomes "pointless". :))

The "B-A-L-L" targets look IMPOSSIBLE to hit from the flippers...making their existence pointless.

I feel like the only person who truly dislikes it. I whole-heartedly support their mission to make new pins, and it could be the most fun pin I'll ever play, but I think it looks ugly. Really, truly unattractive.

I can't completely disagree here. The predominance of green (the green powder coat looks pretty bad), the bland backbox that relies on the LCD, the crappy fonts, the apron, some of the shots, and the digitized artwork are all turn-offs for me.

BUT the playfield items, the playfield art arrangement, the inclusion of two mini playfields, and the solid build quality are all pluses. And it turned out to look a lot better than I thought it was going to based on the initial concept art and sketches.

I need to play it to render a decision though. It looks fun, but I can totally see the LCD, music, and sound ruining it for me.

The theme couldn't be further from what I'm looking for in a pin, but I think they pulled it off. When I saw the bare playfield, I thought the red was jarring but it looks OK now that I see it together. Think it needs to be seen lit up to really make a call on the appearance.

There is something about the design that I can't exactly place that makes it look more cohesive than the typical Stern game... Like AC/DC is a really cool pin, but looks very slapdash when compared side by side with Wizard Of Oz. Perhaps just all the very exposed and unfinished looking Stern hardware, I dunno.

Keep in mind that surrounding the LCD is an emerald mirrored backglass...I think in person it's going to look cooler and more cohesive with the green trim on the cabinet. I'm guessing there will be some backlighting on it, as well. Also, once the LCD is in action with full animation - it won't look bland...I think it's going to make the rest of my games with their static backglasses look bland! :)

Also - the apron you're seeing is a wood apron "topper" ...it can be removed, there's a traditional metal apron under it.

as for the apron, are y'all talking about the sigs? i actually think that looks pretty cool.....different, no doubt.....but cool.

i also think it would be kinda cool if JJP makes the sigs their "signature" (see what i did there? ;) ) on all their upcoming pins.

"but it doesn't flow with the rest of the playfield".........meh........whatevs. how many people look at the apron and decide to buy a pin? the sig-apron would give JJP a distinction. i kinda like it.
