Wow

C'mon man, that is the uber rare (some might even say mythical) amber sided DK. I have prayed to Xanthus on Male Ponytail Appreciation Day every year of my adult life for a sighting of one.

You Phet, as Xanthus' appointed messenger, have fullfilled my heart's greatest desire and I can now enter the 6th dimension...

Well at least something good came out of it.

You know, what bothers me is these guys will rush to ebay to use it as a 'price guide' but never do a simple picture search to see what a dedicated machine is *supposed* to look like. The machine in question was obviously finger-painted, which I agree ups the value some, but a cool G? *sigh*

he says "WORKS great"... not "LOOKS great".
One is a possibility (although, admittedly, the odds are against it), the other is a Big Old LIE!

He doesn't mention anything about the condition of the cab...so as long as it works great, his ad isn't lying :D

Thing is, I don't think he knows or cares about the condition of the cab, which is what bothers me a bit. It looks like shit, is clearly been altered in a bad way, which in a normal person's mind means the value decreases. If he took in to consideration the condition of the cab BEFORE setting a price, what would he ask if it was actually in nice shape? This isn't a sour grapes bitch about the guy's price because I want the game (I don't), it's just a WTF query into the minds of CL sellers. I am also trying to figure out if he finger painted the sides of an original red cabinet, or painted the front of a beat up orange cabinet red.

Nobody get excited. NOT a red cab, and never was. Note the blue paint showing through the "snot" orange sides. Which is also approximately at the corner points of a no-longer-present VS Unisystem sideart sticker.

Someone probably realized that DK artwork is clearly designed for a red cabinet and painted the front (or probably the entire thing) before someone (else?) puked out that orange on the sides.
