Wow! What a fantastic E.M. Pinball video

If it's one sound I miss from a modern pin is hearing an EM running through it's reset process at the start of a new game.

I had to double-take on the host, I thought he was the same guy that's Captain Disillusion:

That was awesome. And on the same day I went to portland retro gaming expo and played a bunch of EM's!
I just bought a Gottlieb North Star in really bad shape a few weeks ago. I've been watching Joe's Classic Video Games and then this video came out yesterday. The people over at Pinside have been super helpful too.

I had no idea what I bought at the time. It was listed on marketplace for $400 and I responded only a few minutes after it was posted. Come to find out it's the most sought-after Gottlieb E.M. What luck.

I'm still waiting to hear that sound. It looks like the 0-9 Unit on mine started on fire at some point. :/

great video, I'm also a fan of the guy's other videos (the better toaster and a bunch more)

also learned the interesting connection between the "Ladder Logic" used in that era (and pre computers) and the digital Ladder Logic that I learned on CNC machines when I started in the business years ago (but not EM days, there were no actual relays just the method of programming), and how it originated from these relay stacks and physical hardware and is still diagrammed the exact same way, super cool

This was really good, and an instant subscribe to his channels. The way he describes how things work is fantastic. And his demeanor is great, Calm with humor mixed in. And the outtakes are a bonus too.
