Wow, never seen a 6100 get this high...

gotta add that there are not that many people that would shell out 600 for a 6100 so hopefully people won't start getting stupid with their games and parting them out.

I expect that anyone that would pay that much has a game in line to put it in and wants a turn key operational monitor that will last.

Funny, someone posted a completely rebuilt (by me) 6100 boardset (everything but the tube and frame) in the for sale section recently for $300, and someone Price Police'd him.

If you already have a tube and need a working monitor, it's not outrageous considering what complete monitor can go for now...

If it was a rebuilt/upgraded HV cage, deflection board, and neck board that does not seem too out of line at all. People as you very well know spend time i.e. do work to fix these up and that time has a value. So to the price police "fuck off". :D

I must confess that i'm a bit surprised at how high this has gone. I've sold plenty of these in the $400 range but this would be a first. Both battling bidders have contacted me with specific questions so this will hopefully be legit. Watch and see, the guy who actually expressed the most interest isn't the current high bidder so i'm thinking he'll pop in last minute.

If people refrain from parting out their color vectors and enjoy them these monitors will only appreciate. Mine all came from water logged turds.

Makes me wish I had of parted the last tempest I sold. I didnt get that much for the whole machine and the monitor was completely fresh and had the upgrades.

I think if the cabinet was nice and you got a decent price for it or the average then you did the right thing. Sure you can make a little more money parting out some machines but then you also have to spend time parting them out and selling the parts separately which imo most of the time isn't even worth it.

All my Atari games have the 6100 in them. What are the upgrades you guys are talking about? I have a 6100 in a box I got in a trade for free, the guy claims it worked, but it's been sitting in my garage for 4 years, I really have no idea if it does or not.

If these updates are easy to do, I'd like to look into it for my working games. Anyone have a link and recommendations?

at this rate, I'll never be able to get all the pieces for my space duel cab. *it was given to me empty, and i've been slowly collecting the missing bits ever since*

Dont worry, I fix machines most people wouldnt think about fixing. I surely wouldnt part a tempest just to make a few bucks.

6100

I was watching this one. It was one of the most watched items on ebay during the auction. I assumed it would go in the 4-450$ range. Very surprised how well it did. Here is your chance to buy a complete running Tempest for less than what Cris' monitor went for. I dont care what the monitor will sell for. I cannot part a Nice Tempest.
