i said what the hell if it works its worth the price even if the feild is not pretty under that mess of dirt and dust

well after 4 hours of driving i now have a genie pinball
the bad
its complete - a cap for one of the pop bumpers and seferal broken plastics
and its missing the mpu argggggg

the good
after spending about an hour cleaning up the playfeild im left with a pretty nice playfeild
only a few little imperfections non really afect the play surface itself

and in the box of spare parts it containes a complete board set and ps for a willams system 6-7(woo hoo now ill go snagg a gorgar i have been looking at thats missing the mpu )
and a ton of old arcade pcb including a joust and defender

all for a woping 75$

wow thsats going to cleanup nicely.

I love it when theyre that dirty. THe dirt seems to help preserve the art underneath for some reason

lol yea thats the main reason i said f it and drove the 2 hours to take a look

my sea hunt pin was the same way totaly dirty but after a cleaning the sea hunt looks as if it was new

just got back from applying the first coat of wax so far there is the standard wear on top where the ball exits the shooter lane

and then there is one wear spot down on the wizards bottom right everything els excpt the plastics look awsome

gotta bust out the novus and hit the plastic next

then its time to rip the mpu out of the jacks to open at the shop and see if the coils are and wireing are ok then off to feepay to track down a system 1 mpu

Are bustin your cherry on a Gottlieb?

Great score btw! The most important thing is the backglass! How is it? These are notorious for flaking!

back glass is descent it does show signs of flaking but no more than any other pin i have came across from the era

just jammed the sys 1 mpu from the jacks to open and it seems that wire wise the genie is sound no blowing fuses and no coils fireing non stop

time to burn out some genie roms and see what happens(dont ask where i got my full set and no i will not give any out lol)

Gottlieb system 1 mpu

I have a nonworking but complete except for the game rom system 1 MPU I could sell you if you'd be interested. 65 shipped.

i just found a sys 1 main board on the parts shelf in the back so i should be good on the main pcb ill probaly use the jacks to open mpu to confirm everything is workin 100% then either rebuild the one i just found on our parts shelf or order one of thoes all in 1 boards

here she is as she sits now

Awesome!!!

Really looks nice and great job!!! There's a project whirlwind on Ebay for 150 bucks that I would like to get but the freaking shipping is around 400 bucks that sucks-Mike

Actually, that's a blessing in disguise. Get the PI-1 MPU from Pascal Janin. It will expand the abilities of the machine and add additional features like a high score list, skill shot and playfield light animation.

yup just what im thinking but with the ground line problems that alot of the oldy sys 1 stuff has i want to confirm the pin will work 100% before i dump cash on the new board no reason to dump a ton untill i see if the pin is worth the trouble

Yeah really, are you just her to gloat or what? Were is the "preservation" in keeping the ROM's to your self?

the person that purchased the licensing for all the gotlieb stuuf is as bad as randy from so im not about to get harassed for handing out files that will cause me headaches later sorry

a little searching and the sets are pretty easy to find

nice.

saw that on Cl but a 4 hour round trip for a 3rd GENIE with my limited space was a stretch even for one of my favorite games

i have a bunch of those spider chips if you are going to try and rebuild the MPU
also have a real nice apron but yours dont look too bad
if you want to trade something for some plastics, give me a shout
