Im so freakin mad right now!!!!! its going to cost me money just to send it to this guy!! I sent an email telling him there has been a major mistake. I was trying to sell a few things to get enough money to repair my sons robotron. wow, a working pac pcb for a dollar!! What would you do, if you were the buyer???? I was listing it on my ipad which i never do and i think it automatically inserted the dollar amount in there?>?> not sure.

Apologize and tell him it was a mistake. You'll probably get a neg but you can explain it.
It sucks but it's better then the alternative.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/cancel-transaction-process.html

"Possible reasons for canceling the transaction are that the item is lost or broken, you made a mistake when listing the item, or you can't complete the sale."

Of course, you need the buyer to agree, which they probably won't do. Worst case scenario, just tell him too bad, take the negative feedback and ebay fees, and re-list it.

To me, the buyer should understand and let you off the hook. No one in their right mind would sell it for that price. However if the buyer is like most people and trying to take advantage of people's mistakes, you will either have to sell it to him for a dollar or get a negative feedback.

Yikes. I dont know if you can fight it man. I know sellers can cancel auctions before the 12 hour mark if they listed it as the wrong price, etc. but I think you have to honor your sale. Sorry about that.

I did this once - an obvious error. Just send the buyer a message asking to mutually agree to cancel the sale.

You also have the ability to request the buyer's direct contact information (email, phone number) now that you've entered into a sale transaction with them. I'd request the user contact info and call them with the same info. My experience with people is that most of them will do the right thing when you speak to them over the phone.

In the end, you can only HOPE that the buyer will understand. If they want to be a stickler about it, though, they can hold you to the listing -after all, it's YOUR error, not theirs.

You can refuse to ship and refund the money, but you'll be risking negative feedback by doing that. That's why using the eBay messaging system to request a mutual agreement to cancel the sale is a good idea. That way in the future eBay has something to look at should the issue escalate out of hand.

Be civil about it, and try and explain your point of view. Hopefully you can work things out.

btw, you got any more boards for sale? :D

It's an honest mistake. Explain it to him and ask to cancel the transaction. If I was the buyer, I would be a good guy and cancel. However, there's a lot of people who wouldn't. You could bite the bullet and chalk it up to life experience, but I would try to cancel the transaction.

I'd take a potential ding and NOT sell it to the buyer.

People will give you crap, especially the buyer, but it was a mistake.

I'd be super happy if I got a working board for that price. I wouldn't expect the seller to honor it unless it was apparent he was just dumping stuff.

Chalk it up to your mistake, take the ding if necessary, and sell it again for the $50 or plus that it's worth.

Oh- you should bump your shipping up to $15 to not LOSE money on shipping.

Damn, that really sucks. I'd contact the buyer and tell him what happened and see if he is a decent guy and will help you out.

Another route you could go is email him and tell him the mistake.
Lets say the board is worth 50$. maybe offer it to him for 25$ so everyone still wins and nobody gets a negative.

Its worth a shot.

so i sent an email explaining that there was a huge mistake, and that im sure he knows that. I also asked if he was a member of klov. so far he hasnt responded back, but he sure did pay his dollar immediately:( Its been 30 minutes since i sent him the email. wow this really sucks! i have a feeling that he is not planning on responding at all! Ill let you know.

I second this. I believe in owning up to your mistakes. I think the "just don't sell it to him and eat the negative feedback" route is irresponsible and wrong.

I would offer him a discounted price but if he doesn't accept, I'd send the board and move on.

I know it sucks but that's the right thing to do.
