Got someone emailing me about my Klax machine I put on Craigslist. I just had to share.

Sent from my HTC

Sent from my HTC HOW CLOSE IS MILWAUKEE TO HILLSBORO AND WOULD YOU BE WILLING TO TRADE FOR AN X ARCADE STICK A DELL DIMENSION 3000 WITH 300GB HD AND 3 VIDEO CARDS.

One minute later:

Sent from my HTC

Sent from my HTC I WILL ALSO THROW IN AN OLD CRT MONITOR WITH MOUSE AND KEYBOARD.

One minute later:
Sent from my HTC

Sent from my HTC THE X ARCADE STICK IF YOUR WONDERING WHAT AN X ARCADE IS IT'S GOT ALL THE PC ADAPTOR WITH IT.

I reply politely, and get this back:

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR VINTAGE ARCADE OR WOULD YOU TRADE FOR THIS

There are just no words. Just look at that thing.I'm pretty sure I have entire games smaller than the control panel.

Two more replies one minute apart:
IT USE TO BE AN OLD MOON PATROL ARCADE MACHINE
IT'S AN OLD WILLIAMS ARCADE

Then while I was picking myself off the floor from rolling around on it laughing, I got:

Sent from my HTC

Sent from my HTC OH WELL IT DON'T SOUND LIKE YOUR INTERESTED AT LEAST I TRIED THOUGH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

From the pic it looks like all 3 versions of Hydra are in fact installed. Only downside is there is no yoke. With that said, do it.

I"ve never played klax, but I"m gonna say it's a fair trade. ;)

No way, not even close to fair. The Dell Dimension shoved into that Williams cab probably plays 300 games, and Klax only plays one. I'd be coming out so far ahead it's not even funny.

I would. That thing is damn ugly but what the hell. I would just stick it in the darkest deepest corner of my gameroom though.

The dude wants to trade a mame for Klax? Why not take the few minutes to track down the rom?

Eh, had he dropped the artwork and used a bigger arcade body, and added the track ball in the middle it wouldn't be half bad..

Guessing it's due to the MAME box being horribly unreliable, but him not mentioning that. Yeah, I guess if that thing was almost completely different, it wouldn't be half bad…

Check out the 16:9 LCD monitor in that thing. Looks like some postcards taped to the bottom of the front glass to make it look slightly better… Five bucks says it's a monitor in the original housing sitting on a box.

I couldn't decide how to respond. You can pick from the menu below:

1. Wow, he's offering you a 'Capcom'? I used to play that game all the time!

2. My favorite features are the externally mounted latches and strikes on the outside of the front of the control panel. The externally mounted joysticks are a close second.

3. Seriously though, the cooking surface on my barbecue grill isn't half the size of that control panel.

4. Be careful, there might be a body hidden inside that control panel.

Actually, be careful, if you pulled down on the control panel the whole machine would flip over.

Also, I totally don't get why he built a giant control panel and then proceeded to install a control layout that would have fit on the stock panel.

I think that hellcab looks like it has alot of potential. For example, if you can get the sticks to fold down into it, you could iron clothes right there on the CP..

Cripes.

Some people just seem to have the real aversion to standing too close to someone on a 2 player machine, which cracks me up because 99% of the time it's going to be a family member or a friend.
