My sources say no :) I just don't think it's worth a little bit of a line graphic when the rest is in great shape. But then, it would look almost perfect with a new one.

Depends on how great the side art is. If the sideart is in excellent shape then its worth it to make the game 100%. IMHO

reproduction artwork sucks.. Even from original films..

if you really want to do it, sell your panel and buy one with a really bad overlay and replace that. If you need a tempest panel I have 2 or 3 spares.

One for keep it, one for get a new one. Humm...side art is in excellent shape, and it'll always bother me because it's front and center. I hate applying CPOs though, I'll see what I feel like after Galaga's CPO is done...

If you're replacing the top and side art, too, then replace it. If it really bothers you, replace it. If you answered "no" to the previous two qualifiers, then leave it alone...

I thought it actually looked better.

If you have to ask, replace it.

otherwise, every time you step up to the game, you're thinking "There's that crappy CPO", instead of "There's my awesome Tempest machine"

1 in 1000 people could spot a repro CPO

999 in 1000 will notice the hole.

BTW, Talon -- awesome job on the CPO ... any tricks to getting it done right?

There's something fishy about that new control panel. I couldn't possibly be the legit flippy-switch.. ;)

Well my only trick is to remove half the backing. Right at the first upper bend. Leaving the release paper on the area with the buttons, and bolt holes. I then put it in place. Put the buttons in place, and bolts to hold it in the correct position. Then with a plastic squeegee I firmly press the sticky half in place. Remove the buttons, and remove the rest of the release paper and firmly squeegee the rest down. As for the fold on the top back I use a heat gun to soften the CPO and then fold into place.

The spinner was still getting cleaned, this was right after I got the CPO installed.
