Would you pay 100$ for a Street Fighter 2 with bad monitor?

OH, just noticed something else. Before you turn it on next time, see that big thick wire hanging off the right side of the tube? That goes to the ground on the neck board. I don't believe that would cause the problem you're having, but it just might cause others if you don't plug it in. If you carefully remove the neckboard (power off) by gently pulling it straight back off the pins on the tube, you'll see a flat prong that might be labeled ground, or "grd" or something like that, it should be shiny and not as dusty as the rest of the parts, because that plug slides over that, grounding your chassis to the tube.

That's not a bad deal if the cabinet is nice. If you are shy about monitors I would send the chassis somewhere or as mentioned earlier have one of the local KLOVers repair it (if you have any local KLOVers). For $100, its not a huge risk. Even if you can't get that much for the PCB, you should be able to recover it by selling the marquee, monitor bezel, control panel and power supply as well. You could even group the cosmetics and PCB togeter and call it a "Street Fighter 2 kit." To make a long story short, its probably worth the risk.

I believe it has to go to the neckboard, there's a little flat pin near the socket that will say ground or something similar that it slides onto.

I think the Jury's out on whether or not it's necessary, but I'd definately plug it in, better safe than sorry.

no luck getting the horizontal image, i tried wiggling wires and such on the flyback, any other ideas?
